Please enter any comments about affordable textbooks.  Thank you!

  • I wish the textbooks were less expensive
  • Affordable textbooks are very convenient.
  • Books are expensive but vouchers help with the cost but it's hard when you finish your voucher.
  • Im struggling so much this semester, i will try again
  • i need help with money.
  • If you cant afford the physical always vuy online its like 60 bucks cheaper
  • Textbooks can be affordable it just depends on where you get it, campus can be expensive but online you can find it for a cheap price.
  • Free or low cost books is how I’ve been able to go to school. The book vouchers last year saved me and I have no idea how I will be paying for any other books this year. I don’t qualify for financial aid. I also have 3 small children so buying a book for more than 30$ is out of the question for someone like me.
  • .
  • They are great and help us through the semester.
  • Other schools I've attended were signed up to BibliU to provide free ebook options to students. I'm not sure how it worked, but I knew many students that would utilize it to have access to their books.
  • Affordable textbooks should have a low price and have more in stock!
  • I think that affordable textbooks are very important when it comes to our classes because many people can't afford expensive materials.
  • It would be nice to have a program that will help pay for our text books
  • Some text books are pricey and I thank you for providing low cost text books.

  • I considered Hartnell has been helpful with their programs to provided the financial aid that I have spend very few in my first time student.

  • It is easy to discover that a class has a free or low-cost textbook after searching in the self-serve website but not necessarily in the online course schedule. For planning purposes, it might be helpful to have a code notation during the "search for and register for classes" process in both self-serve and PAWS for * search results. Maybe a filter or sort-by option might be helpful for students. Another quick note: There was a semester last year where I made two purchases of the same item and was confused by the return policy. I ended up keeping both items (same product) because I got so busy, and the "return by" date had expired.
  • The textbook I purchased cost 287.00
  • The text books are not a major issue for me, its the online portion that tends to really cost me. This year I paid everything out of pocket, the text book itself I was able to download a pdf but the online activation code set me back a min of 100. There's not point in doing the work to find a cheap or free text book when I still have to pay for the lab activation code.
  • I believe there should be resources for students who cannot afford to pay for their textbooks. Thankfully, I was able to save my money and spend it on necessary school supplies but it would be better for others to have more access to textbook even if they’re online or at a fraction of the original cost.
  • Free textbooks pls
  • We need more affordable textbooks
  • The quality of the textbook should not be sacrificed for cost.
  • I needed my textbook for my class. I had $300 of EOPS money to get a textbook, but the student storage did not have the book available for me. I needed the textbook for my class I was not given the option. I am not familiar with computers; having the book at hand does help me a lot. For some people, this works and for other people, it doesn't work. The only option I had was to get 1 dictionary, and 1 flash drive. I would have been satisfied and pleased if I had been able to get a notepad, pens, pencils, and school supplies, which would have helped me. Thank you for allowing me to express myself

  • I usually rent them from chegg or Amazon
  • Most of the books I’ve used are free and online–
  • Wish all text books were free
  • Question number 10 I'm actually not sure about because I've never considered text book costs.
  • I think it would be more beneficial for the students if pdf textbooks were provided. Instead of students actually buying the textbook themselves. When most students take are low income students.
  • If it wasn't for me being in EOPS that gives me a book voucher buying books would be a real struggle only once have I had to spend both the EOPS book voucher and my own money so I can buy all my text books.
  • I think textbooks are expensive.
  • I wish there was more resources to pay for our programs books
