11. As you may be aware the Earned Income Tax Credit Program - provides tax incentives for individuals and families who work for relatively low wages. When a low wage worker files their taxes their tax return is for MORE than what they paid in taxes. Meaning they get out more than they put in. In theory, this encourages people to work rather than relying on social assistance programs such as welfare and disability.
