Needs Assessment Survey
Welcome to the Adoption Council of Ontario Needs Assessment
Deadline for Survey completion is September 12, 2021
The Ontario government has given the Adoption Council of Ontario (ACO) the privilege of creating and administering Centralized Adoption Intake for the province. We will be the first point of contact for families interested in knowing more about adoption in the province. The ACO continues to have a vital role in managing a database of children in the province needing families and will have a program that helps match children to families. Preparing, training, supporting children, youth and families have and will continue to be our vision as we grow into our new role.
You are invited to participate in our Needs assessment to gather information on the preparation, training and supports/resources for prospective, adoptive, and permanent families in the province. We will use the Needs Assessment to identify strengths and gaps in our system and create and advocate for evidence-based training, services and resources for families within the adoption galaxy. In addition the results could be compiled into a publicly accessible report and/or published articles.
You will be asked questions in 4 key areas with a focus on adoption preparation and training. These are 1.) level of knowledge about adoption-related issues and 2.) skills needed in adoptive parenting 3.) Resources and Supports 4.) Personal Attributes
If you agree to participate in this research you will be asked to complete a 12-minute online survey. All information from your survey is confidential. There is no way of tracking a respondent’s identity. You can withdraw and stop participating at any point. You do not have to respond to all questions, if there is a question you feel uncomfortable answering you can skip to the next question.
