Adventure Leadership Series - Building Community Through Snowshoeing |
1. Workshop Description
"Building Community Through Snowshoeing" is part of the Adventure Leadership Development Series sponsored by The Student Life Center at Madison College.
Being a part of a community is an essential part of life....of being a neighbor and an employee. Effective families, neighborhoods, work-places, organizations, clubs and teams have a strong sense of community, which helps them to achieve their goals. People reply on each other. In this workshop, you will learn what makes for a strong community. You will develop ideas which you can use in your clubs, organizations, families and work-places. We will explore these ideas while snowshoeing through the winter wonderland in Wisconsin! Play in the snow, while you play with new ideas about people working together in communities. (No previous snowshoeing experienced required.)
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Participants will understand the elements needed to build community within a group of people.
2. Participants will have a positive community building experience.
3. Participants will develop ideas about building strong communities, which lead to more effective teams.
