The annual Colorado Charter Schools Rally is scheduled for April 17, 2014. This is a unique opportunity for your school to show support for charter schools in a rally on the West Steps of the State Capitol, attend a student debate in the Old Supreme Court Chambers, go on a Legislative, Historical, or Attic Tour at the Capitol, or visit other local sites.

We have some tours scheduled below that you can sign up to attend. There are other opportunities that you can take advantage of by contacting the venue directly (please visit the rally page on our website at www.coloradoleague.org/charterweek for more information and links). We have a very limited number of tour times available to charter schools at the Capitol and other sites, and they will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. REQUEST A TOUR TODAY! (Please keep in mind, there is a maximum of 30 participants per tour. Tours are approximately 45 minutes in length. Visitors must check in 15 minutes prior to scheduled tour time for security clearance and arrival at the start of your tour. If you plan to utilize the restrooms, arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your tour.)

We have a number of options available for school groups, depending on the ages of the students--including a tour related to civics in Colorado for middle and high school age groups. Students can enjoy a guided or self-guided tour of the Colorado Judicial Learning Center (approximately 45 minutes) or visit with a judge or a Supreme Court Justice (approximately 1 hour). We have a limited number of spots available for a tour from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tour is $3.00 per student and free for chaperones.

* The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL)

CELL is a non-profit, non-partisan institute dedicated to preventing terrorism through education, empowerment, and engagement. Its one-of-a-kind exhibit, renowned speaker series and training initiatives provide acomprehensive look at the threat of terrorism and how individuals can play a role in preventing it, ultimatelyenhancing public safety.
The CELL exhibit is a dynamic, interactive experience that is continually updated to reflect today’s reality ofthe threat of terrorism. All of the content included in the state-of-the-art exhibit was developed by world-renowned counterterrorism experts and was designed by Academy and Emmy Award-winning artists.
The CELL exhibit is recommended for grades 9-12 and is located in Downtown Denver (across from the Denver Art Museum).
We have two tours reserved (for a maximum of 25 students and adults each tour) at 10:00 and 1:30. The tour lasts approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours. If interested, please indicate which tour time you prefer.

We have a 10:00 a.m. presentation scheduled by a Denver Sheriff Deputy regarding their department and the operation of the detention center. Appropriate for high school age students.
