Winchester City Council Portable Event Space Consultation September 2013 |
Introduction
Winchester City Council, in partnership with the Winchester Business Improvement District, has commissioned a portable events space to be used in the Winchester District, to be used in the city as well as in the surrounding towns and villages.
Local communities have told the Council that they need covered spaces for day-to-day gatherings was well as more formal occasions. The project provides an opportunity to reinforce local pride in the District’s long tradition of public art as part of its historic street scenes, as well as its growing reputation as a creative centre in the South.
The Council has short-listed three designs from the following companies: Design Engine, GTMS and What Architecture. The designs are on display at Winchester’s award-winning Tourist Information Centre (http://www.visitwinchester.co.uk/site/tourist-information) or can be downloaded on the council’s Facebook page located at https://www.facebook.com/#!/WinchesterCity
