Question Title

* 1. Thank you for taking this online survey about Jump Start "complementary" credentials.

Our goal is to get input from business leaders across Louisiana about the credentials they value most when hiring young adults for entry-level positions.

We've tested this survey extensively. It should take you no more than 10 minutes to complete. Really!

To start, please tell us which Jump Start region your facility is in.

Question Title

* 2. Please select the one industry sector that best describes your business / facility.

Question Title

* 3. Final demographic question: please indicate the size of your enterprise.

We're only offering you three very general categories - please choose the one that best fits.

The questions that follow will be about "complementary" credentials. "Complementary" credentials are different than "core" credentials.

"Core" credentials - like a "major" in college - prepare a student to pursue a specific livelihood. Examples of "core" credentials are welding certifications or advanced EMT certifications.

"Complementary" credentials enable students to master skills or to gain capabilities that have the potential to apply across all industry sectors. This survey will ask you to consider a list of 25 "complementary" credentials.

The purpose of this survey: to get input from business leaders across Louisiana about the "complementary" credentials they value most when considering hiring young adults for entry level positions.

Question Title

* 4. Below please review 24 different "complementary credentials." These are credentials that we believe might make a new high school graduate with a Jump Start Career Diploma more likely to get hired by a Louisiana business.

Question Title

* 5. Are there any credentials like these - "complementary" credentials that would make you more likely to hire an entry-level applicant - that you want the Jump Start team to know about?

(Please do NOT include "core" credentials like Welding or EMT. They are a separate category of credential. In this questionnaire we're asking only about "complementary" or additional credentials that any student could earn, no matter what other academic and career studies they are pursuing.)

Question Title

* 6. Please consider those 24 complementary credentials again - plus any additional credentials that you've asked us to consider.

Please indicate what you believe is the most important credential. By "most important" we specifically mean how likely your organization is to hire an entry-level job applicant who has attained this credential.

Question Title

* 7. Reviewing the same list of credentials, please indicate what you believe is the second most important credential. Again, "most important" means your organization would be more likely to hire an entry-level applicant who has attained this credential.

Question Title

* 8. Last ranking question. Please review this list one last time to indicate the third most important credential.
