Healthy Savannah was launched in 2007 by Mayor Otis Johnson as a public-private endeavor. It is a partnership with schools, academic institutions, business, faith-based organizations, neighborhoods, and nonprofits in order to help Savannah/Chatham county residents have easier access to healthier choices including physical activity and healthy eating options. As part of Healthy Savannah's effort to improve health and wellness throughout Savannah and Chatham county, feedback from the community about the health disparities and challenges facing each neighborhood is very important.
