This short course will introduce the CORMIX system for regulatory mixing zone modeling and outfall design. Course topics include regulatory mixing zones, point source mixing, near-field and far-field physical mixing processes, discharge stability, and boundary interaction. Emphasis will be placed on data requirements for mixing zone analysis of dense discharges in coastal environments. Multiport diffuser design will be presented along with examples of CORMIX tools for diffuser design and analysis. Free CORMIX software is available for use during the course; attendees should bring a laptop for software installation and case study demonstrations. This short course will be taught by the primary developer of CORMIX, Dr. Robert L. Doneker.\
