Clod Lane Play Area - Option 1

Question Title

Proffitts have been working on plans to improve and upgrade Clod Lane Play Area. Following meetings on site with drainage experts and the Parks team from Rossendale Borough Council we have drawn up 2
different options. The site is too wet to allow it to be suitably drained so the proposals are to make the mostof the wetland areas and improve the play facilities and access around site.

Sketch option 1 is below. The key features are:

• The play area will remain where it is but with new equipment and new play surfacing
• The existing paths will be raised and resurfaced above the wet areas giving year round access
• New woodland paths will be created
• Areas of boggy ground will be enhanced as wetlands for wildlife
