Afghanistan Data Initiative |
The war in Afghanistan has been a defining modern conflict for the United States and the international community. In an attempt to contribute to the current debate and future research, the McCain Institute is gathering a large sample of individual accounts reaching across the military and civilian sectors.
We want to hear a diversity of experiences from as many individuals as possible, who have served in or supported Afghanistan. Our goal is to create a "from the ground up" database using both quantitative and qualitative data.
Our goal is to develop a robust, fact-based, data-driven analysis of what happened in Afghanistan—without imposing any preconceived ideological or political framework. We hope to disseminate this raw, fact-based information, providing a resource for future research and study, allowing others to draw conclusions and make better decisions in the future. In the long-term, we expect that this data set will serve as a resource for future research and academic study.
The more people who complete this survey, the more valuable it will be. Please help us by forwarding this survey link to as many people as you know who also served in or supported Afghanistan, and encourage them to take part as well.
To contribute to the Afghanistan Data Initiative, please complete this survey. Please note: the survey will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. We encourage honest responses, and will not attribute statements to you or transmit them into the public arena.
We seek to create an extensive and deep repository of experiences, and are excited to learn your story.
