Our more common problem is when a patient has a full rectum for simulation. We will have them empty and rescan - not usually a problem with inconsistent rectal volume daily.

Highly skilled therapists are a must.

In addition to daily imaging advise patient on diet to minimise flatus, and eliminate poop. Perhaps suggest Beano, Gas-X and other methods. Metamucil works great for me - and you don't know who I am!
