I have been an advocate for a possible for hormetic effect since the mid 90s when I was a graduate student. Dr. John Cameron was kind enough to share his views and some of his slides with me way back then. He even believed that someone ought to do a study where one of the cohorts background radiation was raised to a level equipment to hide background areas to study before medic factInterestingly most radiation oncologists and radiation physicists that I talked to at the time were very receptive to the possibility. It is kind of nice to hear of a growing list of publications supporting the possibility.

If and when the threshold hypothesis gets implemented (I'm not holding my breath) it would be easier to do studies on the hormesis hypothesis to investigate the validity of implementing it.

LNT seems more conservative and thus safer. Unfortunately it seems to be misused to an extent that may be causing material harm and certainly increases costs. Scientifically I have no allegiance but sociologically I think a threshold model is needed.

Some articles on LNT make me question if it was adopted for political instead of scientific reasons

Way Overdue

It is not my allegiance, but what the evidence supports.

We have nothing to fear but BEIR itself.
