The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is making a short youth-friendly animated video “The Europe Effect” looking at the rights that young people have as a result of being part of Europe and exploring what remains to be done in order to make Europe the best place for young people to live.

The film will be used as a resource to engage with young people in the run up to the European parliament elections next year and will also be used as part of NYCI’s advocacy campaign.

The goals of the project are:

• Raise awareness amongst young people in Ireland of their rights as EU citizens
• Foster conversation and debate around EU citizenship
• Explore how young people see their future in Europe
• Ensure a lasting legacy beyond the European Year of Citizenship in 2013

The first part of the initiative is to consult with young people to seek your/their opinion on the key issues you/they feel are most important for young people in Europe today.

We have put together a short questionnaire. We would be most grateful if you/other young people could fill this out and let us know what you think Europe can do for young people.
