About the Group Being Formed:
The ProsperUs Leadership Council is looking for youth between the ages of 19 to 29 who live in the Downtown, West Windsor & Leamington communities to join the Youth Community Action Network working group (Y-CAN) for Milestone 6 (Transition to the Workforce). This group will talk about the challenges youth face with transitioning to the workforce. Members will work together at bi-weekly 1.5 hour meetings to create solutions to barriers that will be developed into programs and services; these solutions will help youth to succeed in re-joining education and career attainment. For more information on ProsperUs and the work already underway you can click here.
Eligibility Applicants must live in West Windsor, Downtown Windsor or Leamington (with a postal code beginning with N9A, N9B, N9C, N8X, N8H, N0P).Applicants must be between 19-29 years of age at time of application.
Members of this Working Group are paid $15.55/hour* to participate in meetings. Payment is issued via e-transfer or mail. Access to supports in order to attend meetings is available including technology and translation services.
Meetings are all online on Zoom at this time; this means members will need a device with an internet connection. If you do not have a device or internet, your application will still be considered, and if you are selected, we will work to get you the necessary device and internet.
There are 41 questions in the survey. These questions help us determine eligibility, representation of the demographics of the community and life experience of applicants so that we can create a diversity of representation at the table. It should take you somewhere between 10-20 minutes to complete.
If you are not selected to be a member of the Y-CAN at this time, your application and contact information will be saved for future opportunities.
