Winter Wildlife Photo Contest | 2025 Show off your skills by capturing our coastal wildlife during the month of January and enter to win some great prizes. Contest runs Wednesday, January 1 - Monday, February 3, 2025 and submissions are due by 11:59pm on February 3rd. If you wish to submit photos in multiple categories, please complete a separate submission form for each entry. If you complete multiple submissions for the same category, only the first submission will be considered. Any submissions before or after the cut-off will not be entered to win. All submissions MUST be taken during the festival period. All photos submitted must be taken in the Coastal Virginia area, which includes the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Williamsburg, and the Counties of Accomack, Isle of Wight, James City, Northampton, Southampton, and York. View complete Photo Contest Rules & Regulations. Question Title * Which category are you submitting a photo for? WILDLIFE PORTRAIT - Must show wildlife in Coastal Virginia ; animals must be still. (e.g. a perched bird). Excludes captive animals. WILDLIFE ACTION - Must show wildlife in Coastal Virginia; animals in motion, displaying a behavior, etc. (e.g. a bird in flight, a whale breeching). Excludes captive animals. FESTIVAL IN ACTION - Must show festival participants during any 2025 Winter Wildlife Festival activity. Submission should capture the “spirit” of the festival. LANDSCAPE/SCENIC - Must show scenic landscape and/or native flowers, trees, shrubs or plants in Coastal Virginia. YOUTH - Subject may be of wildlife, nature, or people participating in nature-based recreation taken in Coastal Virginia; must be under 16 to qualify PEOPLE’S CHOICE - Subject may be of wildlife, nature, or people participating in nature-based recreation taken in Coastal Virginia.
