Consulting and Coordinating with Tribes in STOP Planning and Implementation
The Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO) and the Southwest Center on Law and Policy in partnership with the Office on Violence Against Women, invites you to apply to participate in the Consulting and Coordinating with Tribes in STOP Planning and Implementation Meeting, which will take place in Tucson, Arizona on September 20th - 21st, 2016.
This two-day working meeting will provide an opportunity for a limited number of STOP administrators to participate in experiential learning, critical thinking exercises, and presentations by experts. STOP administrators will engage in action planning; hear from technical assistance providers who work with tribes; and visit two tribal jurisdictions to see criminal justice and victim service facilities, and hear from tribal leaders and practitioners. The agenda will incorporate times for peer sharing about successes, challenges, and opportunities. This meeting is intended for both new and more experienced STOP administrators, and will challenge participants to think creatively about how to maximize the involvement of tribes in STOP processes across the grant cycle.
In order to support the overall goals of the STOP grant, funded by the Office on Violence Against Women, through the dissemination of ideas presented at national conferences, participants attending the Consulting and Coordinating with Tribes in STOP Planning and Implementation Meeting are asked to agree to the following:
• Participate in a pre-conference call/webinar to receive an orientation about the meeting, learn more about the conference and travel logistics, and be introduced to fellow participants and ALSO staff;
• Attend and participate in the sponsored conference in its entirety;
• Registration is non-transferable; if participants cancel their registration after booking, they are responsible for associated costs.
