BSSH Trauma Committee Membership January 2025 - December 2027
We’re seeking expressions of interest from members for positions opening in the BSSH Trauma Committee in 2025 for a three year term. To ensure specialty balance on our committee, we're particularly looking to appoint two plastic surgeons and one orthopaedic surgeon.
The committee meets approximately every two months, mainly online. Meetings take place during the day with some evenings when necessary.

Committee Information:
The Hand Trauma Committee exists to advance hand trauma care in the UK.
General Responsibilities of the Committee
Promotion and support of hand trauma care.
Pro-active promotion and dissemination of developments in hand injury care.
Completing work-in-progress in good time for the BSSH Council meetings.
Contributing to an annual hand trauma session at BSSH scientific meetings as appropriate.
Current Projects
The development and review of BSSH standards of care for hand trauma.
To support developments to improve patient pathways.
To help improve knowledge of treatment outcomes.
Oversee the development of the BSSH/BAHT national hand trauma network.
Work with the Communications Committee to create and promote hand injury prevention campaigns.
