Orthopaedic Trainee Representative – BSSH Education and Training & Instructional Course Organising Committee (June 2025 – May 27).

We’re seeking expressions of interest from Orthopaedic Trainees to join our Education and Training and Instructional Course Organising Committees for a two year term.


This is an important role, providing the trainee perspective on committee and BSSH educational activities.

The position holder will have the opportunity to:
  • Represent and advocate for the views of trainees to inform committee meeting discussions and decision making.
  • Support the committees in achieving the Society's aims through the delivery of its strategic plan 2024 – 2028.
  • Participate in working groups on relevant issues.

Time Commitment:

Instructional Course Organising Committee
  • Attendance at the Instructional Course in Hand Surgery courses. There are two, two day courses per annum
  • Attendance at two half day committee meetings a year (usually held the afternoon before the instructional course itself)

Education and Training Committee:
  • Attendance at two half day committee meetings a year (1 x virtual and 1 x face to face)
  • Involvement with committee projects and scoring bursaries and awards
