Himeji Teach Abroad 2025
TEACH ABROAD - Himeji, Japan
Phoenix Sister Cities, in cooperation with our Sister City in Himeji, Japan, seeks applicants to fulfill 1-2 year contracts with the Himeji Board of Education from August through July each school year.
Eligibility
Program eligibility requires U.S citizenship and permanent residency within the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Applicants attending college elsewhere are eligible to apply if their permanent residence is within the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
Education Requirements
Adults with an accredited four-year degree are invited to apply to travel to Himeji, Japan. Degrees may be in any major/subject. A background in teaching is not required. Experience with the Japanese language is not required.
Current undergraduate students graduating in May are eligible for the program. Due to visa timelines, we cannot accept applicants graduating during the summer term.
Mandatory Pre-Departure Training
Program participants are required to undergo a series of in-person pre-departure trainings focused on document preparation, assimilating to life in Japan, work duties, and more.

Deadline
The application deadline for the 2025 program is Monday March 17, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Application Fee
$25 Non-refundable application fee is required prior to the application deadline on March 17, 2025. Application fees may be paid online, over the phone, or by mail.

Make payment through the phone at: 602 534 8395. Phone payments cannot be made after 5:00pm on March 17.
Make online payments at https://www.phoenixsistercities.org/item/donation/. Make a payment of $25 dollars and, at check-out, note that the payment is for the Teach Abroad program, please include your name at the end of the note. (Same name as the application)
All payments must be received (not postmarked) prior to the application deadline.
