What is a Synod?

The Synod on Synodality is a two-year process of listening and dialogue meant to be part of ongoing transformation for the Universal Roman Catholic Church. "The mission of the Church requires the entire People of God to be on a journey together, with each member playing his or her crucial role, united with each other." - Vademecum 1.2

This is journey of discernment, in which the people of God are called to pray and reflect upon the Holy Spirit’s will for the Church. Through our listening and our sharing, we will seek to understand what the Holy Spirit’s will is for the topic being discussed – and thus, for the Church.

The Archdiocese of Port of Spain invites you to share your thoughts with us. The information shared will remain confidential.

  • Whose voices are currently not being heard?
  • Who is absent from our worship community?
  • What do you think would make our parish, community etc better?
  • What can each of us do and what can we do collectively to make it better?
