St. Charles Renovation Project Survey |
Welcome
Thank you for your participation in this survey. The St. Charles Parish Council and the building committee are seeking your feedback and recommendations for the parish renovation project.
We ask that you thoughtfully consider each question asked. There are a total of 19 questions, and it is estimated that this survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Renovation Project Background Information
Approximately 10 years ago then Bishop Aquilla mandated business space of the church be separated from the private living space of the priest. In January of 2021 the church offices were moved into the social center to comply with this mandate. To seek a solution to this mandate, a building committee was formed early last summer to explore a rectory remodel and on August 27, 2020 architecture firms were interviewed and ultimately Schultz & Associates was approved.
Throughout the fall and winter months the building committee met and explored various options and ultimately in late February 2021 a proposal was made to and approved by the Diocesan Building Committee. The overall renovation plan includes a complete rectory renovation, addition of a family room, and a gathering entrance near the parish center that included inviting staff office space.
Fundraising efforts will begin soon and will be a locally led and driven endeavor. The Diocese will match 10% of the donations with a $150,000 maximum grant award and Fr. Tim will also match 5% of the donations received. This 15% is a generous start to an ambitious fundraising goal of raising approximately $800,000. To comply with the Diocese guidelines half of the project costs need to be donated, and the total amount pledged. This project will not move forward until this recommendation is met.
The opportunity to answer the renovation survey will close on May 12, 2021 at 11:59pm central time.
