Methods of stain reduction on ceramics |
How do you reduce stains on ceramics? This survey is aimed to establish current practices among conservators ahead of KIK-IRPA's research project exploring the efficacy and innocuity of common treatment methods.
The results of this research project will contribute to the cleaning of ceramics from the Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Céramique in Verviers (Belgium) affected by the floods in 2021. This research project is part of the Belgian federal government's initiatives, "Cultural Heritage in Crisis project" (CHrisis), to foster research promoting cultural heritage resilience in the context of climatic change and to develop novel conservation materials and treatments through the "Materials for Conservation Research" programme (MatCoRe).
