Funding
The maximum allowable request per event is $10,000 and is $250,000 per research project, however, the EGLE Energy Unit reserves the right to award additional funds for select events on a case-by-case basis. Applicants are required to provide 100% match for events and 33% match for research projects. The final award amount will be determined by the Energy Unit, and may be adjusted based on program criteria and the amount of remaining program funds. Funding will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, at the discretion of the Energy Unit and program priorities.
Eligibility Requirements
Michigan-based public entities, 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations, and small businesses (<500 employees) are eligible to apply. Non-profits may be asked to provide proof of their federal IRS status.
The primary focus of the event or research must be related to energy waste reduction, renewable energy, and/or sustainability. Sponsored events or research must share materials (e.g., marketing information, summaries, presentations, links, reports, etc.) with EGLE to publish publicly.
Instructions
Complete the form below and attach required documentation. To be considered for funding for an event, an application must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the planned event.
Please note that if an applicant has more than one event they would like to have sponsored, they must submit one request that lists all events and total sponsorship request for all events.
Award Process
Submitted applications will go through an evaluation and risk assessment. Selected applicants will be notified of the funding decision via email. If awarded, the awardee will receive a grant agreement that depicts the terms and conditions of the award. EGLE WILL NOT REIMBURSE ANY EXPENDITURES THAT HAVE OCCURRED BEFORE A GRANT AGREEMENT HAS BEEN EXECUTED.
Proposals will be accepted until all funding is expended, or until 5:00 PM ET, March 30, 2024, whichever comes first.
