Engaging young people remains an emerging practice for many parliaments. Members and staff require distinct professional and personal skills to do so effectively and may face challenges as they begin engagement.
This seminar series will delve deeper into:
- Concerns around safeguarding, especially when dealing with those under 18;
- A lack of familiarity with the lived reality of young people, especially seldom heard groups;
- Uncertainties around how to best meet young people where they are (including online); and
- A reluctance to depart from established ways of working.
INTER PARES will hold a seminar series for parliamentary staff that addresses the needs above through a series of online workshops (90 minutes each on 27 November, 4 & 11 December 2024). Discussion at each session will be led one or more experts, parliamentary staff, and/or youth representatives.
Please register below for the session(s) of your choice. The programme is open to parliamentary staff of INTER PARES partner parliaments and EU Member State Parliaments.
