We want your ideas for the new name for the Sailaway program!
This program is an intensive weekend opportunity of shared experiences which promote fun and social connectedness for participants and volunteers. Through doing so, the program creates an increased sense of belonging and identity to facilitate the participants’ adjustment to a new life in Australia.
Twice per year, this program will bring together 60 young people aged 13 - 17 years, from 2 current partners (Sudanese Australian Integrated Learning (SAIL) and the City of Casey (CoC)) and from 2 new partners (South East Community Links (SECL) and AMES Dandenong (AMES)). In line with the updated partnerships, a new name is required.
The new program format begins from May 2017. The Sailaway operational committee and the strategic refresh group would love suggestions from all LSC&PH for a new program name. The author of the new name, as chosen by the partner organisations, will have their May 2017 camp fees paid for.
