Ottawa County Parks is now nearing completion of the acquisition of an additional 127-acre property adjacent to the current Rosy Mound Natural Area with the intention of integrating the two properties and expanding the experiences provided at the existing park. With the new property’s abundant natural features and scenic beauty, the site offers tremendous opportunities for recreation, connectivity, place-making, improved natural resource management, and restoration.
Three design concepts have been developed for this acquisition area, including a Minimal Impact, Hybrid, and Full Utilization Plan. These design options were guided by Ottawa County Park’s newly adopted strategic plan and with input from Park Staff and the Ottawa County Parks & Recreation Commission. The plans are included in the following survey. Additional information is also available at the County Parks website at miottawa.org/parks/.
Your feedback about park features to include or exclude from the park will be critical in creating the final master plan. We appreciate your time and input.
