RIDESHARE Vanpool Subsidy Program
Participant Rules

As a passenger in a RIDESHARE vanpool, a public transportation service, you have the following duties and responsibilities to your fellow vanpool participants, to the Vanpool Captain, and to RIDESHARE:
  1. I will arrive at RIDESHARE vanpool meeting locations on or before agreed departure times.
  2. I will maintain regular hygiene habits and limit the use of strong perfume/cologne for the sake of my fellow commuters.
  3. I will not ride if I feel sick. 
  4. I understand that close proximity to others may increase the chances of getting sick, and that the use of personal protective equipment may be recommended by the CDC. 
  5. I will keep my space in the vanpool clean, removing all trash upon arrival.
  6. I will maintain contact with the Vanpool Captain regarding any changes in my ability to meet the RIDESHARE vanpool route on time.
  7. I understand that RIDESHARE and the Vanpool Captain reserve the right to review any misconduct, and depending on the outcome, access to RIDESHARE vanpool services may be terminated.
  8. I will pay my share of our RIDESHARE vanpool costs, on or before the due date, each month (typically the 20th of each month).
  9. I understand that my monthly payments secure month-to-month participation, and that no refunds will be issued if I leave my RIDESHARE vanpool before or during the month.
  10. I understand that my monthly share of cost may change subject to total riders, fuel costs, or other direct operating costs.
  11. I understand that failure to pay my share in a complete and timely manner can result in suspension of RIDESHARE vanpool services, penalties, and applicable collection steps.
  12. I will give our Vanpool Captain notice of no less than 30 days in the event I withdraw from participating in the RIDESHARE vanpool route.
  13. In the event that I transfer to another RIDESHARE vanpool route, I will observe the rules and financial responsibilities of that route.
  14. I will abide by vanpool rules as determined by RIDESHARE, and by any internal route rules, as long as they are not in conflict with RIDESHARE vanpool operating policies, which have been agreed upon by the majority of passengers and driver(s) of our vanpool.
  15. I understand that I may communicate directly with RIDESHARE regarding financial, customer service, or other matters related to proper operation of this vanpool route.
  16. I understand that most issues related to financials, customer service, or other operations are handled by my group's selected vanpool vendor (Commute with Enterprise, Ventura Transit System, or Ride-On Transportation). 
  17. I understand that a portion of my monthly RIDESHARE vanpool cost is paid with public funds and, in certain cases, by my employer. I understand if I fail to provide timely payments, accurate information, and comply with rider requirements, I may become subject to public and/or employer penalties, liable for the full cost of RIDESHARE services consumed, and terminated from access to RIDESHARE vanpool services.
  18. I acknowledge RIDESHARE's right to change policies, procedures and financial requirements for participation at any given time.
