Rabbit Management in the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Region
What's this survey for?
The Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board (the board) helps to coordinate rabbit management across the region.
The board sells K5 Calicivirus treated carrots for distribution in late spring and early summer as well as Pindone treated carrots for hand baiting in mid to late summer. The sale of these products through a distribution day means we are able to price discount.
K5 Calicivirus is a biological control for rabbits that can provide up to a 40% knockdown. For this reason we strongly encourage landholders to follow the release of the virus with baiting with Pindone carrots in summer.
The Board also has two baitlayer trailers available for short term hire for the laying of Pindone treated oats for larger properties.
This survey will provide the board with important insights into how we can best help communities with the management of rabbits. We appreciate your time - the survey should take between 2-4 minutes.
