WELCOME
Welcome to the survey to participate in the definition of characterization and evaluation descriptors for (Pisum sativum L.).
Your knowledge and experience are being sought to identify priority traits important for improved nutrition and production and to facilitate their use by researchers.
The goal of this expert consultation is to select those descriptors that are essential to be recorded as they represent those key traits that the users of germplasm are looking for. That is, for characterization, we aim at a set of maximally differentiating traits for the identification of peas. For evaluation, we aim for a set of characters important for breeders (e.g., useful traits for crop improvement; key characteristics to face biotic or abiotic stresses, etc.).
The deadline for this survey is 20 November 2024.
This list of descriptors should be relevant to describing, and especially utilizing germplasm. It is hoped that a priority set of data, available for most conserved material, will allow a better comparability between information systems which should facilitate the identification of interesting material and an increased use of conserved material.
