LCAP Survey, Parent Input

Innovations Academy has 14 goals in our LCAP. If you would like to read the LCAP, you can find it on our website under the FINANCE tab on the HOME page or in the front office. 
This survey is going to ask for your feedback and suggestions regarding LCAP goals that directly impact parents. This survey is anonymous. Feel free to skip any question or give input not solicited in the questions at the end of the survey. Thank you.

Question Title

* 1. Goal 2 in our LCAP has to do with dissemination of information to parents. Currently IA uses the following:
-the director Sunday Call/email/text/posting
-the teacher weekly email to parents
-a school to home journal at least once per week in all classrooms
-Student Led Conferences (October)
-Report Cards at semester end
-Portfolio Review (new this year!)
-POLs (Presentations of Learning) (June)

* 2. LCAP goal 5 is about the use of digital resources at Innovations Academy. Currently we utilize ipads in K-2 and chromebooks in 3-8.  Students in K-2 share devices while each student in 3-8 has their own chromebook. With the use of technology comes software based learning. At Innovations our students use ST MATH, Reflex Math, Math IXL, Zingy Science, RAZ Kids and several other software programs to support learning.

* 3. Goal 9 in our LCAP has to do with students who are learning English as a second language (If you have a fluent English speaking child, please skip this question).

* 4. LCAP goal 10 has to do with the documentation of behavior at Innovations Academy. Because we have a fluid program that is not based on rewards and punishments, we feel this is an important area that needs work and welcome all input. We are currently creating a flow chart that will help us identify ongoing behavioral challenges with students and set firmer boundaries. We are also seeking software that will help us communicate with parents and each other about interventions that have been tried.

* 5. LCAP Goal 13 is about improving attendance at IA. Our goal is to gather data about tardiness and absences and increase communication with parents of students who are chronically tardy or absent to find out how we can help as well as to set boundaries and support students. This is an area of need for us so all creative ideas can help.

* 6. LCAP goal 14 is about parent education. Since IA is a school with a philosophical structure that is very different than most schools and definitely the culture at large, we often experience misperceptions about what we are doing.
