Water Conservation Annual Water Balance Reporting Form NHDES-W-03-162RSA/Rule: RSA 485:61/Env-Wq 2101Last Updated: 05-31-2023The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Annual Water Balance Reporting Form is used by water systems that are required to report a water balance per their approved water conservation plans (WCPs) and pursuant to Env-Wq 2101, Water Conservation rules.A water balance compares the volume of water input to the distribution system with the volume of authorized consumption that is metered. Water Balance = System Input Volume - Metered ConsumptionThe comparison provides a general overview of the water system’s potential water losses and non-revenue water. A water balance should not be confused with a water audit, which is a much more detailed assessment of water losses, non-revenue water, and revenue water. For more information about the water balance and water audit, please check out this short PDF developed by NHDES.Contact: Water Conservation Program (waterconservation@des.nh.gov or 603-271-6685) Question Title * 1. System Information: System Name: System Town: PWSID: Contact Name: Email Address: Question Title * 2. Please provide the time period for which this water balance is based: Start Date Date End Date Date Question Title * 3. What units are you reporting in? gallons (gal) thousand gallons million gallons cubic feet (cf) hundred cubic feet (ccf) other Other (please specify) Question Title * 4. What was the System Input Volume for this time period? System Input Volume: The volume of water input to the distribution system corrected for known errors. It is equal to the volume of water derived from the water system’s own sources, minus water consumed by treatment processes, plus water imported or purchased, plus or minus the net change in water storage where applicable. Question Title * 5. Please describe how the System Input Volume was calculated based on the above definition: Question Title * 6. What was the volume of Billed Metered Water for this time period? Billed Metered Water: The authorized consumption by all customer types that is both metered and billed. Question Title * 7. What was the volume of Unbilled Metered Water for this time period? Unbilled Metered Water: Any authorized consumption that is metered but for which the water supplier does not bill.Note: This is NOT the difference between the system input volume and billed metered water.Note: Only metered water should be reported here. It is for circumstances where a customer has a meter but isn't billed or where a portable meter is used. Questions 8 and 9 provide the option to report any water use that is unmetered and estimated and/or measured using a method other than metering. Question Title * 8. Not required: What was the volume of Unmetered Authorized Consumption? Please also state how the system measured/estimated these volumes. Flushing: Method for estimating volume: Fires/Training: Method for estimating volume: Street Cleaning: Method for estimating volume: Irrigation: Method for estimating volume: Decorative: Method for estimating volume: Other: Method for estimating volume: Question Title * 9. Not required: What was the volume of Real Losses? Please also state how the system measured/estimated these volumes.
