Thank you for visiting the NextExitHistory Fountain of the Pioneers/Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Pottawatomi sites. We hope that you found it to be enjoyable.

Following the controversy surrounding Iannelli's Fountain of the Pioneers, Public Educational programming with a Michigan Humanities Council grant, engaged the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Pottawatomi in providing an accurate understanding of their history and current status in Michigan as a critical factor in plans to restore that fountain as part of improving Bronson Park.

As a visitor to our sites the Michigan Humanities Council invites you to share your thoughts about the project. Your feedback will help us better understand how to present the history of Michigan in ways that are engaging and instructive to a wide range of audiences.
