MPDC Urban Landscape Survey
As part of the redevelopment of the Mac Point site, the Mac Point Development Corporation (the Corporation) is seeking input from the community on the look, feel and use of the open space at the site.
The Corporation is wanting to develop the Mac Point site as an innovative and dynamic area, establishing an arts, culture, tourism and science precinct located in a critical location on the Hobart waterfront.
Within the precinct is a 1.3ha area set aside for public open space. This space has the working title truth and reconciliation art park (The Park).
Activities proposed for The Park include, but are not limited to, use for large scale events and festivals as well as providing a meaningful and culturally respectful space to encourage a sense of connectedness within the community.
To make sure that this open space remains integrated with the future buildings in the surrounding area, a set of Urban Landscape Design Principles are being developed. As part of this process, the Corporation is exploring what is important to the community, what they would like to see in the space and how they would like to use the space.
To assist the Corporation in understanding community views, we invite members of the public to answer this short survey. The project team will use this information, together with feedback gathered through a targeted engagement process with key stakeholders, to produce principles around the design and use of the open space and to inform preliminary concept designs for The Park.
Before taking the survey it is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the Macquarie Point Vision and Master Development Plan to assist your understanding of the objectives and intentions for the site.
