Welcome to Metacognitive Awareness Inventory

Thank you for your interest in taking this survey to find out your level of metacognitive awareness, as a learner (individual involved in a learning process or activity).  My name is Monica Sibișteanu, and before you start the survey, please allow me to share the story behind the scenes. 

It started as academic research. 
In spring 2018, I conducted academic research - as part of my master thesis in education science - to analyse the metacognition awareness of adult learners and to understand the impact of their knowledge on the learning process. The survey relays on Metacognitive Awareness Inventory for Adults, developed by Schraw and Denisson (1994). My master thesis provides a set of recommendation and learning methods to foster metacognition skills development towards an efficient learning process, that can be used by trainers - in their training design, or by individuals - in their learning process. 

Driven by passion 
My passion for adult learning strategies led to the development of Adult Learning Strategies Blog. And please, lower your expectations, there is still much work to be done there.  
After completing my academic research, I closed the survey. However, I kept receiving requests from friends and their peers to send them the questionnaire, as they were engaging in new learning activities, and they found it useful. After a while, I made it available again to learners - anyone interested in learning strategies so that they can find out how they stand and what they can do better.

Process, part 1 - Completion 
It takes a few minutes to fill in, and it helps you to identify how aware are you on the reflective and the control aspect of learning. Based on these results, you - the learner will get insights on how he can improve the learning process. 

Process, part 2 - Assessment Results 
To receive the results of this questionnaire, you will need to share an email address - of your choice, where you will get them. But, if you have no interested in providing any email address to receive the assessment results, I strongly recommend you to not continue further with this survey, as it will be a waste of time. 

There is another way for you to do it. Here you can find the inventory, and it's scoring guide, which can provide you with useful details that you can share them with your teacher/instructor/trainer or if you're a self-learner, you can use them to search for ways to guide your learning so you can attain desired results. 

Process, part 3 - Results Interpretation  
This part is available for those willing to proceed with the survey. Once you completed the questionnaire, you need to know that it will take up to 14 days to receive your result interpretation, as I manually handle them. 

Your email address will be used solely to share your survey results, and there is no cost associated with this.
