Parkes Shire is growing and we have recently secured funding for an estimated $60M of State, Commonwealth and Council funding to secure a major upgrade to our ageing water infrastructure and allow Council to collect, store, clean and distribute water to meet future demand.
The Parkes Water Security Program comprises 10 separate packages of construction and implementation works which will provide a boost to our local economy. The funding deeds for the water projects include a requirement to source 50% local and regional business and services as part of the project delivery model. Council is now seeking information from local businesses to develop a register of local businesses that will be shared with contractors and sub-contractors as part of the tender process for the Parkes Water Security Program.
