Are you interested in converting to Biodiesel (B100) for Heating?
Many Vermonters are looking for ways to reduce or eliminate fossil fuel use and meet their energy needs in more sustainable and climate-friendly ways. Biodiesel (B100) is a low-emitting, renewable fuel that, so long as your fuel tank is located indoors in a space that stays above 45 degrees and some relatively simple steps are taken, can be a replacement for fuel oil for your furnace or boiler heating system.
Are you interested in learning more? To be clear, this survey is to gauge market demand. We do not yet know full details regarding pricing, delivery, and service. However, if enough people sign up, we are hopeful that one or more companies will step up and provide this renewable resource.
For more information, we encourage you to attend the workshop on Friday, September 28 from 5-630 PM at 610 Elm St, Montpelier, VT 05602-2011 with biodiesel (B100) expert Jim Malloy (Owner, Black Bear Biodiesel in Plainfield) and boiler/ burner technician expert Craig Emerson (Service Manager of T.H. Malloy & Sons fuel delivery, Cumberland, RI). A portable demonstration boiler will be on hand, and you’ll also have the chance to see the in-process conversion of the heating system for the home at 610 Elm St. We’ll explore what is involved in transitioning your heating fuel from fossil fuel to B100 (as many homes in Southern New England have already done) and address important questions about supply, delivery, service, and cost.
