Green Rebuild Toolkit Survey

Renew is seeking information on how we can support fire-affected communities

Renew is using its expertise on sustainable homes to help support fire-affected communities in the process of planning and rebuilding homes in a climate resilient way.

The Green Rebuild Toolkit includes a range of tools, resources and online events that will launch in early 2021 to communities rebuilding after the 2019/2020 Australian bushfires.

Renew is seeking input from council or organisational representatives supporting the bushfire recovery effort, as well as individuals who experienced property losses or damage, to help inform these targeted resources on rebuilding bushfire and climate resilient homes.

The following survey should take around 10 minutes to complete.

We acknowledge that discussing traumatic events such as the loss of a home in a bushfire can be distressing for some people. The survey is seeking general information about any barriers to rebuilding a home, however please only provide information that you feel comfortable to share, and we encourage you to seek support if necessary.

Renew’s Green Rebuild Toolkit is funded by international donor Global Giving and will include:
  • A comprehensive website and project ‘hub’ with articles, case studies and videos on energy efficient and sustainable bushfire design and building practices, for a primary audience of bushfire-affected communities.
  • A series of expert webinars to provide further practical information to property owners embarking on the rebuild process.
  • Virtual Speed Date a Sustainability Expert events, to enable property owners to connect directly with experts and gain one-on-one advice regarding their project.
  • Virtual one-on-one consultation sessions to allow for more detailed exploration of design ideas and review of the proposed rebuild, giving the chance to improve an existing design.
Renew is also seeking council and community project partners to help deliver these webinars, Speed Dates and one on-one consultations to fire-affected communities. Please note in the survey if you would like to find out more about bringing these events to your area.

Thanks for your time, honesty and candid input on your experience. This is going to go a long way to helping us develop information and resources that are useful and provide genuine support to bushfire-affected communities to rebuild.
