Michigan Technological University & the University of Washington, together with Civic partners- Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region (WUPPDR) and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community – Natural Resources Department are  collaborating to develop innovative methods that use remote sensing data resources and citizen engagement (crowdsourcing) to address current data gaps for improved flood hazard modeling and visualization for rural communities in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

In this preliminary phase of this study, we are seeking information on your knowledge about local flooding and present levels of preparedness. Responses to this questionnaire will help us customize the final product effectively for community benefit.

This survey contains several questions and a space for additional comments at the end. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. We thank you for your contribution to this information gathering process.

All survey responses are kept confidential. Our research team practices confidentiality by removing any personally identifiable information and aggregating survey responses when analyzing and reporting the results.
