Overview
The purpose of the Farm Directory is to connect consumers to producers of farm products, helping to strengthen the food supply chain across New York.
 
In February of 2022, Section 16(52) of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law was amended to require the Department of Agriculture and Markets to create a directory that includes every farm in New York State.

Farms are either required to respond to this mailing to provide the requested information or to opt out of the listing. You can provide the requested information or opt out through the online survey below, or by visiting the Department's website at agriculture.ny.gov/farm-directory.  If you wish to reply by mail, a survey form has been sent with a pre-addressed return envelope. 
Your participation will help to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the directory.

Please Note: this is not an all inclusive survey. If you do not see the commodity and products you produce, reach out to the Farm Directory team and we can help make sure that your farm listing is accurate when posted.

Opt-Out
The law requires that a farm that does not wish to be listed in the directory must notify the Department of its decision to opt out, using the method outlined below. An opt-out will continue for the life of the farm directory. Farms that choose to opt out after being listed may also do so by following the process described below. 
Those choosing to opt-out can contact the Department if they wish to participate in the Directory at any point.  Those that initially participate can also contact the Directory if they decide to opt-out in the future.

If you are associated with an active farm business, your farm should provide the information it wishes to share with the public, including available products, by using the below questionnaire. We recommend that you provide the business address for the farm if it is useful to the public, or an address where the public can access your products, such as a farm stand or farm store.
