Impact of COVID-19 on Faith-based Leaders, their Houses of Worship and Constituents: A Needs Assessment

You are being asked to be a participant in a research study.
What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of Covid-19 and the global coronavirus pandemic on institutions of faith, faith-based leaders, and their constituents. The study will seek to answer the following questions:
How has the global coronavirus pandemic impacted spiritual rituals and services?
How has your house of worship adjusted services and rituals during the coronavirus?
What needs do you and your constituents have because of the coronavirus pandemic?
What type of additional supports or resources do you believe faith leaders need or constituents need as the holiday season is approaching?
What will you have to do, if you agree to be in the study? If you agree to be in this study, your part will involve:
completing an anonymous online survey about the experiences and resource needs you, your house of worship, and constituents have had during coronavirus and any anticipated needs/resources during the holidays.
the survey is a one-time survey that should take approximately 10-15 minutes
the survey will not collect any IP addresses or personal identifying information
we will be asking for some answers in your own words. However, only de-identified direct quotes from participants will be used in publication/presentations
Are there any possible risks to being in this study? If you agree to be in this study, there are no foreseeable risks to you, above those that you experience in your daily life.
Are there any possible benefits to being in this study? There is no direct benefit to you by participating in this study; however, we hope to be able to use the information we gather to develop resources, trainings, or programs to support the faith-based community.
How will your study information be protected? Your name will not be linked in any way to the information you provide. Neither IP addresses nor any other identifiable information will be collected.
Data will be collected using the Internet; no guarantees can be made regarding the interception of data sent via the Internet by any third party. Confidentiality will be maintained to the degree permitted by the technology used.

Your participation is voluntary! Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You may decide not to participate at all or, if you start the study, you may withdraw at any time without any penalty. Withdrawal or refusing to participate will not affect your relationship with Monmouth University in any way.
