Extremely Shorts 2020 Program & Ballot

Now in it’s 23rd year, Aurora Picture Show's annual Extremely Shorts Film Festival is famously fun, eclectic, and beyond category! This year's online-only festival program features adventurous short films (each under 3 minute long) of all kinds. Our guest juror, Mexico City-based artist and writer Miguel Calderón, has selected 23 new shorts from hundreds of submissions from around the globe. Cash awards will be given to Audience and Juror choices. Vote for your favorites below! (And be sure to hit "done" at the bottom of this page.)

Part of a series featuring women allegedly blacklisted by Harvey Weinstein, this one featuring Ashley Judd is a story of simultaneous disasters–both natural and private.

Annabelle by Frances de larminat, 1:56 (NY, USA)
Through a rupturing of images and stammering of text, sound, and language, Annabelle escapes a male-dependent world in search of liberty and self-reliance.

A woman goes into a shoe store, and leaves with... the cruel shoes. This animation is based on comedian Steve Martin’s short story.

Routine is discovered through obsessive tendencies. The body is being undressed while simultaneously being covered up by cotton threads attached to the 16mm film.

A found WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) clip is digitally re-structured based on the visibility of the championship belt. By motion tracking, the belt is placed in the center of the frame, with no image when it is not visible, there is no video image.
