Thank you for your interest in taking part in this questionnaire. This questionnaire has been designed to assess public understanding and awareness of canine body weight. There are no direct risks associated with taking part and responses are anonymous so please answer the questions honestly.

No personal/identifiable data will be collected and data will be handled according to the GDPR. The estimated completion time is 20 minutes.

The data set will be used to understand and evaluate the current state of canine obesity in the UK and will contribute towards scientific publications and presentations. Anonymised data may be shared with the veterinary and animal-based community to inform others of the outcomes of this project.

Please note, an element of this questionnaire involves viewing a series of dog photographs. You will be asked to state whether you think the dogs are very underweight, underweight, ideal/healthy weight, overweight or very overweight (or unsure). All photographs were taken after consent from the owner or carer was granted. Some photographs involve extreme body condition. You can close and end the questionnaire at any point if you find any of the images upsetting.
