Come Together: Exploring how social connection & inclusion shape the future of public libraries

Public libraries occupy an increasingly visible role in how individuals and communities learn, interact, connect, and share with one another. This talk will explore the broader knowledge landscape regarding public library practices, spaces and activities that collectively create and reinforce social connections in an increasingly “asocial” society. We will look at innovative work happening in this area, including how older adults connect with their public library and a collaborative social work project at Hamilton Public Library.
