Absolute Zero - Ø  noun ab·so·lute ze·ro: In classical kinetic theory, there should be no movement of individual molecules at absolute zero.

CRST definition of Absolute Zero - Ø: CRST needs no motion leading to weather related crashes or injuries.

Comfort Zone noun com·fort zone : a place or situation where one feels safe or at ease and without stress.

CRST definition of Comfort Zone: when one feels they  are safe and able to operate their commercial motor vehicle in current conditions.

* 3. As a driver for CRST, I recognize that:
I have certain limitations when it comes to driving safely – as defined by to achieve Absolute Zero - Ø - in winter conditions.
CRST expects its drivers to operate within the confines of their limitations as described in to achieve Absolute Zero - Ø and invoke the “Comfort Zone” when any of these limitations are reached.

Road Conditions – I am not sure of my own ability or the ability of other motorists to safely operate on roads and interstates due to:
- Snow accumulating on roads/bridges
-  Ice or Black Ice accumulating on roads/bridges

Visibility – I cannot maintain a safe following distance and guaranteed stopping distance due to:
- Snow, Fog
- Night or low level light conditions

Terrain Considerations – I am not sure of my ability to operate safely when traversing unfamiliar terrain that may be made more dangerous by road, wind or visibility conditions.
Fatigue/Illness – I am too ill or tired to continue to drive safely.

- Comply with CRST imposed slowdowns and shutdowns in designated areas
- Report changes in weather conditions using my CRST Driven app

I pledge to invoke the Comfort Zone to achieve Absolute Zero - Ø as indicated above when any of my personal limitations have been reached.  I intentionally make this pledge for my own safety, the safety of my co-driver and the safety of my fellow motorists who share the roads with us.  Further, I make this pledge so I can continue to be there for my family and friends who count on my safe return.  I will post this pledge prominently in my truck and will review it daily before driving.
