Thank you for your interest in responding to a short survey for Ethics Awareness Month.
We all know fundraising isn't easy, and it isn't always straightforward or black and white either.
Sometimes pressure mounts, unexpected opportunities arise, or a confluence of factors results in a difficult situation for fundraisers and their organizations.
To ensure fundraisers continue to learn and navigate ethical dilemmas,
consider sharing an ethical situation you are familiar with. Your story may inspire a member to address a problem they are facing, or it could prevent a similar situation from arising in the first place. Your stories will nurture an honest, transparent fundraising environment for nonprofit professionals everywhere, and support those who are struggling with their own ethical dilemmas.
Please review the short survey, below
(just four open-ended questions). Be as candid as possible. Do not reveal names or identify organizations.
All stories will be reviewed and may be chosen for sharing as part of Ethics Awareness Month. The stories will be shared on the AFP website, on social media, in the daily newsletter, and other communications.
You are NOT required to share your name or other identifying information. HOWEVER, if you’d like to share your story with the Ethics Committee, and the committee would like to use your story or dilemma as one of its case studies (making all the necessary changes to ensure complete anonymity), you MAY submit your email address. Again, though, this is NOT required.
Also, please remember that if you do want support from the AFP Ethics Committee for reporting or resolving an ethical issue, you may contact Derek Mulhern at
derek.mulhern@afpglobal.org.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2020.If you have any questions or comments, please contact Michael Nilsen at
