Drone Adoption within New Zealand's Agriculture Sector - Understanding Potential Benefits
Fill in the survey & leave your details to be considered for a permanent installation testing site for this new automated technology on your farm.
As part of a proposed New Zealand Government funded project we're looking at how drones can improve productivity and safety on our nation's farms.
Drones can carry a range of sensors, in addition to cameras, to gather and relay information to farm staff and managers to assist in oversight, recording and decision making.
This project envisions:
Video or images live streaming to a phone, tablet or laptop. Specific information from sensors displayed in pictorial or graphical form for easy interpretation.
Autonomous drones housed in dog kennel sized solar-charged hangars, located on, or near a farm which requires no interaction from the farmer other than selecting tasks for it to perform and information for it to gather from a drop-down list on a mobile device or laptop.
The drone will initially generate a detailed and centimetre accurate base map of the property identifying boundaries, fence lines, trees, gates troughs, and other assets as well as hazards and ground height, slope and other geographic features for use as its primary navigation and for establishing a task list.
Easy identification and execution of tasks which can be repeated or modified to suit operational routines - see below for a list of these potential tasks.
Your help in completing this survey will greatly support New Zealand's smart industries' future - thank you.
