Blink/PeakOn/Sonder! - Blink is our company wide app - it has a full directory of everyone across every business unit - it has a chat function, important files are held in the Hub on Blink and this is where we do our important company announcements and news items. You will be sent an invite via phone or email - make sure you accept it. If you have any issues, please let your line manager know and we will get you sorted! Have a look at the explanatory link here. We also run PeakOn Surveys every quarter or so on all sorts of themes. You will receive these via email. Here is a video explaining this here. We also have a well-being app called Sonder. This provides health and well-being support for you and your family. You will receive an email invite to this and here is the video to explain what it is. * 6. Laptops, desktops, cellphones, access to Finance portals, access to Sharepoint and various drives - these are all looked after by IT. If you have issues with anything, please reach out to Service Desk. You can do this by using the ServiceDesk Portal (the icon should be on your desktop) or email servicedesk@hegroup.nz or call 07 306 2935. This will help ensure prompt and efficient handling of your requests.  Further on in your induction, we will be asking you to read and sign our data policy. * 7. If you are based in the office, we do have a corporate clothing range. Please check with your line manager about this. 
If you are working on sites, you will be required to wear PPE. We have a Group wide policy of wearing long-longs - without exception. 
As you go further through your induction, you will go through some Site Specific Plans - this will show you what additional protection you will need on these sites. e.g ear protection is required for Owens Illinois due to the factory and furnace noise. Please note what you will be required to carry in your vehicle if you are visiting multiple different sites over the course of the day or the week. * 8. Obviously, if you are driving a company vehicle, you must be fully licensed, and operating the vehicle safely at all times. If appropriate, log books must be filled out and all accidents/damage incidents notified immediately. It goes without saying, but we will say it anyway, you are not to be under the influence of drink or drugs at anytime. We also have a policy of reverse parking where possible at our work sites. Don't speed, don't let your temper get the better of you and be a responsible and safe driver. * 14. Health and Safety Outline Office - if you are site-based you can just select NA and move on and skip the office questions - if you are based in the office, select yes and move on. Office-based staff can obviously miss the site based section.

* 15. As part of Health and Safety in the office, you need to be observant around things such as trip hazards, unsafe parking, reversing vehicles - those kind of things. If you see something, SAY something - take it up a level to your manager - this is important. There should also be monthly H and S meetings in the office. Select yes to move onto the next section.

* 16. Health and Safety Induction Site workers - if you are office-based, you can skip this section - go to the end, and click done. For site based people - our sites all have different levels of requirements. In the next two sections, you will go through the various Standard Operating Procedures for sites (SOP's) and the Site Specific Plans (SSP's).

* 17. SOPs  - Standard Operating Procedures are the rules by which we live and work. These are updated regularly - you must read and understand these. There are more of these that look at very specific operations - your line manager will take you through these as you work on these specific tasks. * 18. SSP's - Site-Specific Plans - you will no doubt be working on some sites that have site-specific health and safety plans. Some of our sites such as OI (Owens Illinois) are high-risk environments, so you need to make sure you are across these. * 19. Section 44 - when the Pike River disaster occurred, it forever changed the Health and Safety landscape in New Zealand. One of the things to come out of it was that the senior management and Board members of businesses are now required to take responsibility for Health and Safety on their sites. This is why, from time to time, you may see our senior people and Board members on your sites. It's about Section 44 of the Act - and here's a short video to explain it.
