PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THE ALLEN COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY FACILITIES MASTER PLAN—PHASE I

We are signing this petition to show support for the ACPL Facilities Master Plan (FMP) - Phase 1. We understand the project will be paid by a combination of library reserves (up to $26,000,000) and bonds (in a principal amount not to exceed $37,000,000) and that the repayment of the bonds will be from property taxes*. For the owner of a home with an assessed value of $150,000 this would be approximately $10.94 in additional taxes per year.

Our community needs and deserves modern library facilities that promote lifelong learning and discovery. We strongly urge approval of these bonds and related matters because it is critical to the continued success of the Allen County community.

*The tax increase ($0.0165 per $100 of assessed home value) will be subject to the existing tax cap meaning no taxpayer will pay more than 1% of their home's value in total property taxes.
