An Invitation to participate in this study

Ngā mihi ki a koe. Ko Ella Henry tōku ingoa. Ko Ngātkahu ki Whangaroa, Te Rārawa, me Ngāti Kuri ōku iwi. He toihuaroa ahau, kei te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makaurau. Greetings, my name is Ella Henry, and I am a Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Business School at AUT. I am working with Dr Christina Milligan (Ngāti Porou) from the School of Communication Studies, on this study.

This is an invitation to participate in a research project funded by the Broadcasting Standards Authority, in collaboration with Te Puni Kōkiri and Manatū Tāonga, the Ministry for Culture & Heritage. The purpose of the study is to explore the appropriate use of mātauranga Māori in the media.
 
What is the purpose of this research?
The findings of this research will be used in a report to the Broadcasting Standards Authority, Te Puni Kōkiri and Manatū Tāonga, the Ministry for Culture & Heritage, and may also be used for academic publications and presentations on this issue.
 
How was I identified and why am I being invited to participate in this research?
The invitation to participate in this survey is being sent to you because you are on the mailing list for Ngā Aho Whakaari, the association of Māori in screen production.
 
How do I agree to participate in this research?
By submitting your responses to this survey, you are giving your consent to participate. It is an onymous, and no personal information about you is being sought.- There are eight short questions, and we ask for your views on these questions.
 
What are the benefits?
The key benefit of participating in this study is the ability to have your say on issues relating to mātauranga Māori in the media, and having those views reflected in the final report to the Broadcasting Standards Authority, Te Puni Kōkiri and Manatū Tāonga, the Ministry for Culture & Heritage.
 
What do I do if I have concerns about this research?
